The man leans on the grand piano red with special shape in his head.
Juha Pulli received recognition from colleagues.

The Actors’ Guild awarded Pulli for his musical Murder for Two, in which the actor changes roles even in the middle of a sentence.

The recognition comes directly from Pulli’s colleagues, as the winner was voted for by the members of the Actors’ Guild.

– Pull has an original knack for being at once laconically declarative and flamboyantly restrained. His acting is a celebration of rhythm, comedy and musicality,” says the Actors’ Guild.

Reached by phone, Pulli says that the recognition is particularly warming because he has worked as a freelancer his whole career.

– I have not had a year -long work community, but all work is project -based. The fact that my colleagues give my voice to me to be lucky, the actor says.

A postcard of a woman picking babies out of a tree – these are the picture postcards of a hundred years ago

Picture of old postcards.
The postcards of the turn of the 20th century were partly surrealistic.

At the turn of the 20th century, postcards were used to spread propaganda, among other things. In this article, we have collected some of the most interesting examples of historical picture postcards.

At the beginning of the 20th century, picture postcards were a real craze: millions of cards were sent in Finland, and they played a big role in social interaction in their time.

A large proportion of Finns were able to find out what the rest of Finland and the world looked like through picture postcards. In newspapers, for example, illustrations were very rare.

Picture postcards were also used to spread news, propaganda and surrealistic messages.

Kaj band in the promotion.
KAJ quickly became one of the most sought-after performers in Finland.

KAJ, a hugely popular band, has performed at venues ranging from the Närpiö Swimming Pool to international festivals. Gig fees quickly rose to the level of the country’s top bands.

The Finnish trio KAJ, Sweden’s Eurovision favourite, have made a meteoric rise to the top of the summer’s domestic festival performers, both in terms of demand and gig fees.

In mid-March, the Vöyry-based band performed in the Närpiö swimming pool in Ostrobothnia, where the concert, organised by the band itself at the risk of the ticket price, attracted 500 people. The concert was sold out, but the venue was small.

Next summer will be different.

Regardless of the outcome of the May Eurovision Song Contest, Kaj has already been attached to several big festivals and top popular concert stages.

Cultural influencers call for Israel out of the Eurovision Song Contest, or Yle out of the competition

The petition, launched by the Finnish Palestine Network, has been signed by nearly 500 music and cultural professionals and more than 10 000 citizens.

More than 10 000 citizens and hundreds of music and culture professionals call on YLE to exclude Israel from the Eurovision Song Contest.

The petition was handed over to Yle on Monday in the lobby of Yle’s Media House in Pasila.

– We demand that Yle demands that the EBU exclude genocidal and apartheid Israel from the Eurovision Song Contest or stay out. In practice, we demand that Yle does what it did with Russia in 2022,” actress-screenwriter Noora Dadu said in an interview with Yle at the handover ceremony.

An official event where the papers are solemnly handed over. The event is documented with several cameras.
The ceremony was attended by prominent cultural figures.

According to Dadu, the situation in Gaza is hopeless.

See what it’s like at hurlumhei rapper Petri Nygård’s party cake

Petri Nygård, known as a rapper with a wry tongue, celebrates his 25th anniversary as an artist. We went to see the atmosphere late Saturday night in Himos.

– I’ve heard from a few people that they would have been particularly disappointed if they *hadn’t* been mentioned in the song, Nygärd says.

In the domestic popular music canon, Nygård has become a perennial favourite over a quarter of a century, with his ambiguous lyrics focusing on sex and alcohol and pure joie de vivre and humour.

Nygård’s merit list includes the immortal slogans *Pannaan Suomi Kuntoon* and *Tuhansien Lärvien Maa*. In the artist’s online shop and at concerts, they sell fridge magnets with – how else – the words *Pill Magnets*.

Rock musician Ville Malja sobered up, but doesn’t regret his drunken years: ‘I’m a fan of alcohol, what’s to deny’

Ville in his office.
Ville Malja’s debut novel is fiction, but very personal.

Ville Malja has no hard feelings about his drunken years, because they were fun. But without getting sober, he would not have been able to write his debut novel.

– I knew it would always be waiting for me and accept me as I was.

Rock musician Ville Malja, 43, known for his bands Lapko and Moon Shot, has now been sober for five years. And he still has nothing bad to say about his former good friend.

– I would say that alcohol has played a big part in what I have achieved. Many contacts and job offers have been made at parties, more or less drunk.

One thing the cup would not have achieved if he had continued his binge life. Namely, the first novel.
