Lahti Kisapuisto stadium artificial turf renovation is progressing rapidly

The installation of the new artificial grass will start this week. The work will be completed by Midsummer at the latest.

The installation of the new artificial turf at Lahti Kisapuisto stadium has gone well.

The elastic layer is modern, and the artificial turf filler is different from the rubber granules of the past. According to Rajala, the artificial turf in Lahti Stadium is similar to that in Tammela Stadium in Tampere, for example.

According to the contract, the work must be completed by 20 June. Mr Rajala estimates that the replacement work is currently slightly ahead of schedule.

The work will cost the city of Lahti almost € 760,000.

FCDC has been touting a huge data centre project in Rovaniemi. The company has projects all over Finland, but no data centre has yet been built.

FCDC Corp, which is planning a data centre in Rovaniemi, has several data centre projects in various parts of Finland, but has not yet started building any.

FCDC is a real estate development company. At the very least, it looks for potential sites and acquires land for centres.

According to Leinonen, the project development phase will take several years.

– We currently have eight projects in progress. These projects do not compete with each other, Leinonen says.

The main company in the Lahti store will be Heila, which is known for its business in Heinola.

The Lahti Market Hall has been reopened with a new look. Located on the edge of the market square, the hall has been thoroughly renovated. The main part of the new operation is run by Heila, a well-known restaurant and local feed store in Heinola.

The people of Lahti came in droves to the opening ceremony to see the transformation of the more than 100-year-old hall.

During the renovation, the appearance of the shopping hall was changed and the old stalls were removed.

– There’s a bit of a short night’s sleep behind. Perhaps the greatest feeling at the moment is the emotion, he said about an hour after the doors opened.

On Friday morning, the café and restaurant side of the shopping hall was quieter than the retail end.

Flags flew in Salo to celebrate Lahti Pride week.

According to Tuominen, the last sighting of the tickets was early Thursday evening. When they went to count the tickets, they were no longer there.

Tuominen says that Lahti Pride intends to file a criminal complaint.

According to Tuominen, in very few years, tickets have been allowed to be at peace. Sometimes they have been taken and sometimes dropped to the ground.

Lahti municipal politician Simon Ekpa charged with terrorism offences

Ekpa is suspected of spreading separatist propaganda from Lahti. The case was investigated by the police together with the Nigerian authorities.

Simon Ekpa, a former municipal politician in Lahti, is charged with terrorism offences.

The Deputy Public Prosecutor has decided to charge Ekpa with public provocation to commit a crime with terrorist intent and with participation in a terrorist group.

The charges were brought on Friday morning. The case will be heard by the Päijät-Häme District Court. No trial date has been set yet.

Ekpan is suspected of committing crimes between August 2021 and November 2024.

Lahti may build temporary facilities in the yard of the new Myllypohja multi-purpose building after all

The SDP made an amendment, which was approved at the Lahti Board of Education meeting.

In Lahti, the Alasenjärvi school may after all get additional space in the yard of the Myllypohja multi-purpose building. At its meeting on Thursday evening, the Education Committee approved the SDP’s proposal for additional transferable premises.

It was previously assumed that some of the schoolchildren in Lake Alasenjärvi would have to stay in temporary accommodation in the former Ahtiala health centre building for a few years.

The rent for the additional space in the health centre building over five years would have been around €0.9 million, according to the city’s calculation. The rent would have been mainly internal rent.

According to the city, the additional removable facilities in the yard of the multi -purpose house would cost around EUR 1.4 million. Most of the rent would be paid to the outside of the city.

In the centre of Lahti, the coin-operated parking machines have been discontinued, but there are still a couple of dozen payment card machines in use.

A six-month trial of halving parking charges will start at the beginning of July.

Lahti plans to reduce parking charges on Saturdays in the city centre’s off-street parking spaces.

The Urban Environment Committee will discuss the matter on Wednesday 21 May.

According to a proposal prepared for the Board, parking fees in zones 1 and 2 in the city centre would be halved on Saturdays. The six-month trial would start at the beginning of July.

Thus, for example, the experiment would reduce the price of the first hour parking to EUR 1.25 in the first zone.

Sinuhe’s creditors have not objected to the restructuring procedure. The liquidator must make a proposal for a payment plan by the end of August.

Sinuhe, a traditional bakery in Lahti, has gone into receivership.

Päijät-Häme District Court has issued a decision to open restructuring proceedings against the company. According to the court, the conditions for the opening of the proceedings are met.

Sinuhe’s major creditors Finnvera, Varma Mutual Insurance Company and the Tax Administration do not oppose the restructuring procedure.

The creditors shall inform the liquidator by June 16, and the liquidator shall make a proposal for the payment program by August 29.

– My role has been to push through the restructuring programme. When I started, the company was facing serious financial challenges. My job was to get the company into a turnaround programme and back on track. Now that task has been accomplished.

Bus Travel Oy Reissu Ruodi’s press release says that the change will be implemented in good understanding. The change of leadership will take effect already this week.

– This is a natural step. Be a renovator yourself. Ville is going to take the business forward,” says McCarron.
