Yle’s TV announcers disappear from the screens – see how the announcers said goodbye to the nation
In the future, announcements will be made on TV1 in the same way as on TV2 and Yle Teema, i.e. using only the announcer’s voice.
This Sunday marks the end of a tradition that has been going on for decades, as Yle TV1’s announcers will no longer appear on the TV screen.
– A little wistful, but with good spirits, we look to the new winds. A warm thank you to you, the viewers, for these years. Thanks also to our small team, it’s been a real pleasure to work together on this project,” says Sevelius.
In future, announcements will be made on TV1 in the same way as on TV2 and Yle Teema, i.e. the announcer’s voice will be heard but not seen on screen.
Tilus will continue as TV1 as an announcer.
\”After all, this is a major case when the announcement tradition that began 68 years ago on TV1,\” writes Tilus on Facebook.
Tilus will be seen on the screen once again when he announces the last visible announcement at 9:55 p.m.
The change is due to YLE’s savings and changes in media use.
