KAJ’s sauna can no longer be heated for pennies – “We get 20-30 enquiries a day”, says the gig seller
KAJ, a hugely popular band, has performed at venues ranging from the Närpiö Swimming Pool to international festivals. Gig fees quickly rose to the level of the country’s top bands.
The Finnish trio KAJ, Sweden’s Eurovision favourite, have made a meteoric rise to the top of the summer’s domestic festival performers, both in terms of demand and gig fees.
In mid-March, the Vöyry-based band performed in the Närpiö swimming pool in Ostrobothnia, where the concert, organised by the band itself at the risk of the ticket price, attracted 500 people. The concert was sold out, but the venue was small.
Next summer will be different.
Regardless of the outcome of the May Eurovision Song Contest, Kaj has already been attached to several big festivals and top popular concert stages.
In Finland * Kaj Sauna Tour * can be seen in June in Seinäjoki Provinss, Mustakari Memories in Kokkola and Radio Nova Festival in Tampere before the festival summer really gets hot.
Kaj also has the appearances agreed before the popularity. Before the Eurovision Song Contest * Karar I Arbeit På Turné *, Kaj performs several nights in the Vaasa Ice Hall and other Ostrobothnian arenas.
– No agreed gigs have been canceled, says Henrik Hagnäs, a gig seller.
A wild rise in premiums
Fast -growing popularity has also raised Kaj’s performance fees near domestic top artists.
– It had already begun to see that Kaj was a phenomenon. The actual agreement was concluded after the victory.
Of course, festival organizers do not tell the sums of money, but according to Ville Koivisto, Kaj’s reward has risen to the level of established bands.
\”Likesa is one that has a list of one,\” he says.
\”The reward is already in the figures for the Finnish Top 10,\” he says.
According to Tiilikka, a small spike came to the pre -ticket sales of the event when Kaj’s presence was published.
Can the high last?
The telephones of Kaj’s gigs selling United Stage Finland have recently been hot. There are many times more queries than free weekends on the calendar.
– There are currently 20-30 queries a day. Almost everyone has to say no, says Henrik Hagnäs.
Selling non-os is also tactics. If the band is successful in the Eurovision Song Contest in the Swiss Basel in mid -May, there will be a lot of interest from outside the Nordic countries.
With refusals, Kaj also wants to make sure that the band’s members do not come to an end. Confidence in one summer is strong longer than one summer.
