The new Gaudia high school in Lahti opened its doors only a couple of weeks ago, but some of the students are already on edge.

According to the students and the principal, there are far too few parking spaces. The size of the canteen also seems undersized compared to the needs of 1,300 high school students: a large part of the time reserved for eating is spent waiting in line.

According to city officials, the parking problem is solved by students using the city’s paid parking spaces, reports Etelä-Suomen Sanomat.

Parking and dining are everyday problems

The measure of students is full and the Lahti youth council has decided to take the matter to the city council for consideration.

According to Päiven, a parking permit that costs 50 euros per month is disciplining students too much.

– If working adults are charged that price, it is not fair and fair to students. A high school student’s budget is already tight anyway. The problem has been known for a long time, but it has not been addressed.

According to Päivä, the dining problems are due to the fact that the canteen is simply not able to serve the number of students at the school with the current schedule.

– The matter can be fixed, for example, by intervening in the organization of the time frame or by allocating enough time for meals. For example, half an hour is reserved for abes to eat and most of this may be spent waiting in line.

The youth council is moving things forward and hopes for quick improvements.

– We take a stand on issues with the means that the youth council has at its disposal, for example at our board seats, and we hope that these will also be put on the agenda of the city council, says Päivä.

The Court of Appeal of Eastern Finland did not grant Cannonball permission for further proceedings, because there was no reason to doubt the correctness of the district court’s liquidation decision.

The motorcycle gang Cannonball MC and its affiliate Squad 32 remain defunct. The Court of Appeal of Eastern Finland has decided that no permission for further processing will be granted in the case.

The district court of Päijät-Häme abolished the motorcycle gang in June. According to the district court, Cannonball acted essentially against the law and good manners.

According to the district court, there is a command-and-control relationship between Cannonball and the members of Squad 32, and the members have an obligation to follow orders. Members are grouped according to a rank scale, which resembles a military organization.

According to the district court, Cannonball could be abolished because the promotion of crime or illegal activities supporting it do not fall within the scope of freedom of association.

Cannonball appealed the verdict to the Court of Appeal. However, according to the Court of Appeal of Eastern Finland, there was no reason to doubt the correctness of the evaluation of the evidence carried out in the district court. There was also no reason to doubt the correctness of the district court’s decision.

According to the Court of Appeal, it is not necessary to grant permission for further processing also for the reason that it would be important due to the application of the law in other similar cases.

In the case, you can still apply for permission to appeal from the Supreme Court.
