The operation of both the land swimming pool and the Flowpark will end this season on the coming Sunday.
During the soon-to-end swimming season, fewer swimmers visited Ahvenisto’s land-based swimming pool in Hämeenlinna than last year. Last year, more than 22,000 swimmers visited Maauimala, but this summer there have been about 5,000 fewer of them.
Elä says that the number of visitors to the beach also shows that foreign tourism has increased since the corona virus.
There is also a decrease in the number of visitors to Ahveniston Flowpark compared to last year. This year, about 3,500 adventurers have visited Flowpark, compared to about 5,000 last year.
– The number of visitors to Flowpark is affected by the fact that the opening hours of the adventure park have been reduced since last year, the park manager says.
Ahvenisto’s adventure park was only open on weekends in May. In addition, since the middle of August, you have only been able to go on adventures on weekends. In September, Flowpark is open only to agreed groups, i.e. school groups.
– Last year, the adventure park continued to operate on weekends in October, but this year we decided to close the park earlier. The autumn weather is uncertain and this way we can plan the new season earlier.
Both Ahvenisto’s land-based swimming pool and Flowpark will be closed on Sunday, August 28 in Hämeenlinna.
