The construction of Terwa Tower, planned next to Oulu’s market area, will now start when Osuuskauppa Arina joins the project.
Terwa Kiinteistökehitis Oy, Terwa Management Oy and YIT Suomi Oy have chosen Osuuskauppa Arina to participate in the Terwa Tower project.
The goal of the project is to open Terwa Tower’s services, including a hotel, in Vänmanninsaari for the capital of culture year 2026. Construction is planned to start in 2024.
A project complex consisting of a hotel with restaurants, an apartment hotel and offices is planned to be implemented on the artificial island of Vänmann, behind Oulu’s main library and in the Meritor area.
The goal is to open a Solo Sokos hotel with 240 rooms, a food restaurant, a restaurant with a view on the top floor, and customer saunas in Terwa Tower.
The employment impact of the entire construction period of the project is estimated to be 460 person-years. After completion, the hotel will offer around 100 new jobs.
In addition to the hotel, the Terwa Tower project complex includes the City Suites apartment hotel and office space.
The tower hotel has been designed by YIT Talonrakennus Oy, Terwa Management Oy and Terwa Kiinteistökehetsys Oy, which received a planning reservation in 2018.
