Both Päijät-Sote and Kanta-Häme Hospital District woke up to a new situation in the nurses’ dispute on Thursday morning, when the nurses’ unions decided to impose a temporary ban on transfers to the municipal sector.
The nurses’ unions Tehy and SuPer have announced that they will step up their industrial action. The organisations decided on Wednesday evening to impose a temporary ban on transfers in the municipal sector. This means that union members cannot be transferred to another job or place of work. Tehy and SuPer also say they will continue to prepare for collective redundancies.
– Our line managers in particular have a very heavy burden, because they organise work and activities so that services can be guaranteed. It remains to be seen what impact this will have in the longer term.
No working holidays are granted
It is impossible to assess the impact of the transfer, but according to Leino, in this situation there will be no unpaid leave, no leave from work and no participation in external training for the time being, as everything is needed for the care work.
– The hospital district is also finding out how our employment contract, which all employees sign, is to be interpreted compared to the ban on temporary transfer given by Tehy and SuPer.
The employment contract states that in addition to the tasks included in their job title, the employee or office holder is also obliged to perform other work assigned to them by the employer. The place of execution of the work is the area of \u200b\u200bthe hospital district, which is made up of the municipalities belonging to the municipal association of the hospital district.
The mediation of the nurses’ collective bargaining dispute will continue next week. Yle follows the mediation in this article.
