The aim is to improve the pathway to work or an apprenticeship for the more difficult-to-employ in the city. The criteria for awarding the €3,000 premium will come into force at the beginning of June.
Lahti wants to boost the employment of unemployed jobseekers with a new recruitment premium.
The allowance is granted to the employer for the costs of recruitment, where no other aid is paid. Costs may include, for example, the cost of work space, equipment, induction and training.
At the beginning of July, the pay subsidy reform will enter into force, with the new recruitment premium replacing the Lahti supplement for employment. The Lahti supplement is a discretionary subsidy granted to employers to cover the wage costs of unemployed jobseekers in the city of Lahti.
No unconditional termination of the premium
The reward is given when an employer engaged in economic activity employs or takes on an apprenticeship for at least eight months an unemployed job seeker from Lahti, who has received at least 200 days of labor market support or has reached the age of 55.
The bonus is also awarded when an unemployed jobseeker from Lahti under the age of 30 is hired for an employment relationship valid for the time being.
The recruitment fee is 3,000 euros. The same employer can receive a recruitment bonus at the same time based on the employment relationships of up to five different people.
The bonus is not granted to an employer who has dismissed employees for production or financial reasons during the 12 months prior to applying for the subsidy, and whose number of employees at the time the subsidy is granted is lower than at the time of dismissal.
The criteria for awarding the award will come into effect from the beginning of June 2023. Lahti estimates that the recruitment support would cost it around 60,000 euros per year.
Wage support is the primary support for employment, and the recruitment fee must not affect the amount of wage support.
