The company is to be split into two companies in order to be more transparent.

The Tampere House business is to be split into two separate companies. The question has now been raised as to which model would be best to split the company into market and public utility operations. Whether it should be a subsidiary, a sister company or a parent company.

The City of Tampere’s Consolidated Board will discuss the matter on Tuesday. The proposal is to split the operations into a subsidiary.

In this case, the city would directly own the parent company of the Tampere House Group, which would be a public utility company. Market activities would be transferred to a subsidiary.

Tampere-talo Oy is a limited company fully owned by the city of Tampere. The city of Tampere owns the Tampere building property and is responsible for the property’s investments and collects rent from the company. The company receives the rent as a partnership subsidy annually from the city.
