In the Päijät-Häme region, almost only rutted highways are paved.
In the coming summer, Päijät-Hämee will mainly pave rutted high-traffic sites, i.e. highways.
The sharp rise in prices can be seen as a clear decrease in paving volumes, the ely center says.
In the summer, the paving works in Päijät-Hämee are focused on patching ruts and preventing the risk of hydroplaning on high-speed highways 4 and 5, as well as on highways 12 and 24.
For example, the ruts on the four-lane road are repaired in the areas of Lahti and Heinola church village. From the intersection of four roads and five roads towards Jyväskylä, the road is being improved between Koskenmylly and Sääksjärvi.
Highway no. 5, after Lusi’s emergency drop-off point, is paved until the Ely border.
The client of the work, i.e. ely center, does not set any intermediate goals, but the contractor himself schedules his paving work for the summer.
The Ely Center only stipulates that the work can start at the beginning of May and must be ready by the beginning of September.
Only in Hollola are the areas of the lower road network paved.
New pavement is planned for Kirkkotie, Rantatie and Messiläntie in the summer.
In the areas of the Hollola region, the schedule set by the customer is also more precise: work can start at the beginning of June and must be ready by the beginning of August.
The reason for this is the Lahti Ironman World Cup 2023, which will be held in the area in August.
