Young people only have distant memories of the Kalevala, in the home corners of the national epic, we hope that every Finn knows the book

Finland is currently applying for a European cultural heritage label for the Kalevala.

Finland’s national epic Kalevala, despite its new rise, is passing by some young people.

At school, the Kalevala is in the program, as well as in the city’s strategy, but the lesson does not automatically reach everyone. In Juminkeo, the center of Kalevala culture operating in Kuhmo, knowledge about the Kalevala would be strongly desired for everyone.
