IIikivalta’s traces disturb nature walkers in Häme: nature conservation violations, thefts and messes

In Aulango’s park forest, tables have been thrown into Metsälampe, among other things.

Repairs cause unforeseen additional costs. According to Metsähallitus, there are problems in all seasons.

Nature services are currently considering how to prevent vandalism in the future. Informing and thereby increasing understanding is the primary means. Increasing camera surveillance is also being investigated, but it will increase costs.

– We offer services produced with tax funds for free to everyone. Vandalism causes inconvenience to hikers, and repairing the tracks means additional work and costs for us, reminds designer Anne Halla-aho.

Vandalism happens in all seasons

According to the nature services, vandalism, theft and nature conservation violations have occurred both in Hämeenlinna in the Aulango nature reserve, in Tammela in the Torronsuo National Park and in the Lammi Evo camping area.

For example, in Hämeenlinna, the electric boom of the tire road circling the Aulango Park Forest has already been broken three times.

– Repairing the boom costs more than seven hundred euros at a time, says designer Anne Halla-aho.

Tables and benches on the shores of Joutsenlammi and Metsälammi, as well as trash and garbage, have been thrown into the water. An unauthorized bonfire was made on the stone platform of the steps of Karhulula. Halla-aho reminds us that repairing old stone furniture and structures is neither easy nor cheap.

The trees in the park forest have been cut down several times. It is not allowed to place love locks without a permit in public structures or in historical structures at all. However, this has been done in Aulango. There is also camping in the area, although it is completely prohibited in the Aulango nature reserve.

Torronsuo and Evo get their share of vandalism

Tammela’s Torronsuo National Park is a popular destination for which a new parking lot was recently built for its visitors.

– The surface of the parking area was ruined by the car crashing before they had time to put concrete pigs there. Now the surface has to be laid again and the water drains repaired.

The boom of Vähä-Koukkujärvi in \u200b\u200bEvo’s camping area has been broken and trees taken from the wood litter. In addition, the axes purchased for the hikers have been stolen. The absence of an ax from the fire place causes inconvenience to hikers for a longer period of time, as maintenance visits are made at Evo’s camping area approximately every two weeks.
