The renovation of the park, which was renovated more than 20 years ago and is known as Pikku-Vesku, will begin next summer.

The renovation of the popular Pikku-Vesijärvi park will start next summer in Lahti. The purpose is to develop the park as a versatile recreation area. For example, outdoor fitness equipment will be renewed and there will be more of them than now.

A new playground is coming for children, which will make use of the forest slope. The place favors, for example, climbing and house games.

The parking area will be reduced from the current one and it will be paved, but the work will not start until 2023, because there will be a lot of events then. A game area is coming to the west end of the parking area near the pumping station, where you could play, for example, table tennis, park chess or petanque.

Citizens can also suggest activities suitable for the area in a survey found on the city of Lahti’s website. You can answer the survey until November 8. The renovation work is planned to be spread over several years.
