Demolition work continues in an apartment building damaged by a fire in the summer in Mukkula, Lahti – repair plans and schedule will be specified in the fall

The fire, which spread to the attic and roof, caused great material damage, but there were no personal injuries.

Renovating the house to habitable condition will take well until 2023.

Repair work on an apartment building that was badly damaged in a fire in Lahti’s Mukkula in the summer will continue well into next year.

Demolition work after the fire is still in progress. Roof milling is now underway.

The renovation will be more extensive than anticipated. The old facade elements and the wet thermal insulation behind them are removed and replaced with new ones. A building permit has already been obtained for the renovation of the facade.

The apartment building located on Timonkatu suffered major damage and damage caused by extinguishing water in a fire that occurred in mid-July. The residents of all 23 apartments of the 7-story building live in temporary premises until the apartment building is repaired to be habitable again.
