The new contract period for the Helsinki-Savonlinna service would start in September and run until the end of 2025. The tender is for one return flight on weekdays, except for two return flights on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
The costs will be shared equally between the City of Savonlinna and the State. However, the State’s share may not exceed approximately EUR 1 million.
Route traffic is seen as important for Savonlinna’s business life.
The competition ends in July. Currently, scheduled flights to Savonlinna are flown by Estonian NyxAir under a temporary contract.
