The tunnel is open for light traffic during the renovation. The goal is to complete the lighting renovation in the tunnel as soon as possible.
Lahti’s Mustankallio tunnel is closed to vehicle traffic from early Monday, August 29.
The lighting renovation in the tunnel has started on Monday morning, the estimated duration of which is 2–3 weeks. The work is done 20 hours a day in order to complete the renovation as quickly as possible.
During the renovation, pedestrians and cyclists can pass through the tunnel, which can be noisy and poorly lit, however.
The tunnel’s lighting technology will be modernized with LED lights. Destia Oy acts as the contractor for the renovation.
