For the time being, no new parking garage will be built on Sairaalanmäki in Lahti, but the old Siltapuisto parking garage will be renovated
The Siltapuisto parking lot is going to be renovated after all.
Lahten Parking Oy has done a condition check on the building, and the renovation is estimated to cost one million euros.
The renovation will cost considerably less than the construction of a completely new parking garage on Sairaalanmäki, which was also under consideration. It would cost 30–40 million euros.
The renovation of the parking garage in poor condition is scheduled to start this spring with a basic wash. The life cycle of the parking garage will be extended by 10–15 years with facade repair and renovation of rusted steel structures, renewal of lighting and painting of stairwells.
The work is planned to be done during the summer and autumn so that there is as little inconvenience as possible to the users of the building.
At the same time, he reminds that the parking company currently has many other irons in the fire. The Kartanoparkki will be completed soon, the Hansaparkki will undergo renovations in the summer, and the toriparki’s driveways will have a new concrete surface in the fall.
