Stand-up comedian Johanna Tohni, on the other hand, was nervous about whether she would have time to perform in Helsinki for the evening.

At the Tampere railway station, a four-person scout group was waiting for the bus to Parkano.

Vaajoensuu does not believe that there is any way to stick to the original schedule.
– Now this is such an adventure. We’ll see where we end up and when.
They plan to apply for compensation when they return home from Rovaniemi on Sunday.
You can apply for compensation for a delayed train via VR’s website if the train is at least one hour late than the arrival time shown on the ticket.
– You’ll probably have to wait a long time here, but I don’t have any plans, and I’m in no rush, Rinto says.
Rinto himself had gone to find out the situation from a VR employee.
– As long as you can get to the bus here and to Parkano, then we’ll see how long you have to wait for the trains in the end.
Stand up performance in danger
Tohn’s performance in Helsinki was supposed to start at 9 p.m.
– The journey has dragged on. I was supposed to be there on the train at half past six, but I haven’t.
The first replacement bus broke down
Unbelievable bad luck caused a further delay in Tohn’s trip. He waited an hour for the first replacement bus in Parkano. When he then got to it, the bus broke down on the way.
– We just changed to another bus. Fortunately, it came very quickly, maybe a quarter of an hour later.
It was hoped that the comedian would still make it to Helsinki on time.
– This is where we go, and there’s really nothing else you can do, Tohni says.
Fintraffic Rail Traffic Center announced shortly before nightfall that the damage to the electric track between Tampere and Parkano can be repaired according to the latest estimate by 8 p.m.
