The Päijät-Häme welfare area plans to establish a new short-term care unit for children and young people in Kilpiäin.
A new unit is needed for the short-term care of disabled and developmentally disabled children and youth, because the Sylvia home will stop providing services at the end of June.
Thirteen clients of the disability service have been in short-term care at the Sylvia home.
Other activities at the Sylvia home continue as normal.
The welfare district’s new short-term care unit for children and young people is located on Kielokatu in Kilpiäis, where a 6-bed service home for the disabled is already in operation.
Four new employees are to be hired at the service home.
