The organizer’s goal is to sell a total of 45,000 tickets for the weekend’s World Cup events. The hope is that as many people as possible would leave their cars at home and use, for example, public transport.
Salpausselkä’s 100th anniversary race starts in Lahti on Friday.
On Friday, there will be competitions in, among other things, the combined pair sprint and the cross-country pair sprint. This year, the world cups of the Nordic sports will exceptionally culminate in Lahti.
The traffic arrangements of the sports center and the surrounding area have changed during the Games. The organizers hope that, if possible, people would come to the games on foot or by public transport.
Traveling by local buses is included in the ticket price, so the Lahti region transport routes are also available free of charge both to the race venue and back on the day the ticket is valid.
