Train disruption has had some impact on Jyväskylä’s hotel business – bookings have been adjusted to fit bus timetables

So far, the strike has led to isolated changes in bookings. Although trains are not running, there has been no increase in air traffic in Jyväskylä.

Train services in Finland are at a standstill due to a strike by train drivers.

The strike has also had an impact on hotel business. At Hotel Verso and Yöpuu, for example, the phones have been ringing off the hook.

– We have adjusted our room bookings to fit in with bus schedules,” he says.

Individual cancellations have also been made at Hotel Alba. In some of the rooms, the accommodation has been extended so that the customers have been able to get the transportation connections working.

No impact on air transport

– We have discussed with one of the event organizers whether all the speakers will get there on time. It may be that we have to stream part of the event, says Kiilamaa.

– So far, changes have only been made to individual northbound flights, he states.
