Helsingin Sanomat: Poliisit TV series to be discontinued

The Police Board has decided not to continue the popular TV series Poliisit. The decision was influenced by the Ombudsman’s ruling on the programme.

According to the Police Board, it is no longer possible to continue the *Poliisit* TV series, reports Helsingin Sanomat.

The Ombudsman stressed in his ruling that confidential information must not be disclosed to third parties.

– The Parliamentary Ombudsman set clear boundary conditions for the programme, which do not allow the continuation of the series without significantly changing the programme format and production method, Koistinen says.

Poliisit is a Finnish documentary television series produced by Aito Media. It has been shown on Nelose and Ruudu.

The program depicting the work of police officers began in 2009 and has been very popular since the beginning.

The series has also contributed to increasing interest in applying for police training.

In the future, the police will focus their communication especially on social media.
