Several sightings of the big beast have been made in its area, especially in Pedersöre, Kruunupy and Uussakaarlepy.
The wolverine has also been recorded several times on game cameras in the foothills counties on its way through.
For the last 10 years, the population of wolverines in the Ostrobothnia provinces has remained quite small. Two years ago, it was estimated that there were twenty of them in Ostrobothnia.
There are currently an estimated 400 wolverines living in Finland.
