Lahti wants to safeguard events in the city, and the Sibelius Hall plays an important role in this.

On Monday, the Lahti City Board will discuss the appeal against the capital increase of KOKO Lahti Oy.

A group of Lahti city councillors are calling for a correction to the City Council’s decision to support the events company KOKO Lahte.

The city government’s decision is considered to contain prohibited EU state aid.

In the appellants’ view, KOKO Lahti would receive an economic advantage from the City which it would not have received under normal competitive conditions or from private financial institutions under normal market conditions.

A total of five councilors are pursuing the correction.

The rectification request will be presented at the Lahti City Council meeting on Monday, January 30.
