Accommodation sales increased their revenue to EUR 7.8 million, up 35% on the previous year. There were 117 000 overnight stays, 13 fewer than in the previous year.
When you include AirBnB nights in addition to accommodation establishments, accommodation sales in Kokkola will be EUR 8.5 million in 2022.
The rise is significant, as the reference year 2021 was a record year for domestic tourism.
Foreigners’ Travel in particular revived in Kokkola last year. People from abroad come here especially from Sweden, Germany and Italy.
Most of those who stay overnight in Kokkola come to the city in their free time.
Piristyunty Matkustus raised the occupancy rate of accommodation facilities higher than the average for the whole of Finland, to 49 percent.
