In Oulu, new off-road cycle paths are being built.

The city’s goal is to build around 400 kilometres of trails for cyclists, walkers and trail runners by 2023, over the course of this decade.

Signposts will also be added to the routes later.

Where possible, the routes to be built will follow existing paths and tracks, with the ground reinforced as necessary, for example with gravel and bridges.

The goal of the first guided route is to be completed in the early summer of 2023. When completed, the route will be approximately 32 kilometers long and will start from the Kaakkur sports ground and end at Ruskontunturi.
