Niemi joins from the City of Vaasa Museums, where she works as the museums’ public relations manager.
Jenni Niemi has been elected as the new Head of Culture of the City of Vaasa. Niemi takes up the post at the beginning of the year from the City of Vaasa Museums, where she works as the museums’ public relations manager.
The Head of Culture is responsible for planning, coordinating and developing the overall cultural activities of the City of Vaasa. His/her tasks also include managing the cultural grants that are awarded and coordinating cooperation between art and cultural institutions.
There were 14 applicants for the post of Director of Culture, of which four were interviewed. The selection was made by the Culture and Library Services of the City of Vaasa.
