The organizer sold tickets to festivals that the city did not bless – Järvenpää’s culture director: \”Many things would have to change for us to continue\”

Several famous artists have performed at the Järvenpää Soi festival, including Blind Channel and Antti Tuisku.

The realization of the Järvenpää Soi city festival is very uncertain, even though the festival organizer has already sold tickets for the event. The city of Järvenpää announces that it will not enter into an agreement with RH Entertainment Oy to organize next summer’s festival.

RH Entertainment plans to organize similar city festivals next summer in Hyvinkää, Salo and Tampere, among others.

Raijas says that the amounts in question are not large. The background is generally that the organizer did not take care of his obligations related to the previous contract.

– The general desire of the city has been that quite a few things should change at RH in order for us to continue working together. This does not mean that we would not like to continue the cooperation, because this has been a great event for Järvenpää, says Raijas.

According to the city, RH Entertainment has also not applied for permits for next year’s festival. Despite this, the company has sold tickets to the event. Tickets cannot be purchased at this time.

RH Entertainment is one of the largest concert organizers in Finland, but in the summer of 2022 it ran into financial difficulties, so that all future events will be organized as planned.

Despite Järvenpää’s announcement, Raijas says that the city and RH Entertainment will continue negotiations. So there is a small chance that the event will take place.

– We want events in Järvenpää, but we want events that can function within the framework of the agreement.

The city of Järvenpää has also not negotiated with other organizers about possible summer festivals.

– I wish them all the best, that they get things in order soon, says Raijas.
