Among the Finnish provinces, the transition situation in Päijät-Häme is the second weakest. The deadline for the free transfer is the end of 2023.
The transition to the mandatory apartment information system for housing companies is progressing slowly in Päijät-Hämee. At the national level, only about eight percent of housing associations have switched to the new system. In Päijät-Hämee, the reading is only 4.6 percent.
According to the Land Surveying Institute, the deadline for free transfer is the end of next year, and a fee will be charged for transfers made after that. There are large regional differences in the implementation of the system, and the situation in Päijät-Häme is the second weakest.
For now, the most active housing associations can be found in South Savo and South Karjala, where there are approximately three times more housing associations that have switched to the new information system than in Satakunta or Päijät-Hämee.
There are approximately 90,000 housing associations in Finland that are affected by the transfer. Currently, 7,000 of them have made the necessary transfer.
According to the National Land Survey, small housing associations play a key role in the speed of transfers. They can independently switch to using the new apartment information system as soon as the switch is decided at a board meeting.
