Actor Elias Salonen delved deeply into Ilpo Larha’s life while preparing for the role. Among other things, he read the same books that Larha read.
Salonen, who visited the Half Seven program, said that he spent a lot of time preparing for his role.
– Yes, it went quite deep in researching that character. After all, he was a twisted guy. I don’t think he was a psychopath, but a very difficult and traumatized person, Salonen describes.
Salonen also said that while preparing for the role, he read a lot about various criminal cases and even the same books that Larha read.
Since Larha was a taxi driver, Salonen also had to learn how to drive cars from the 90s. In addition, he learned pistol shooting.
– Ilpo was very good with guns, so I started going to pistol shooting at the beginning of the year.
Salonen graduated from Teatterikorkeakoulu last spring and has already been well employed during his studies. When Salose was younger, he had a role as a washerman:
– That role was a big jackpot. It was wonderful to be able to make a series that was so good and became so popular. It was really wonderful to do it and it was the kind of series that stands behind the world view and which in so many ways was an important work for me.
