In Finland, My Dear Sea Captain has attracted viewers to cinemas. The film, which premiered at the end of September, has been viewed more than 72,000 times.

The themes of the film are ageless love, forgiveness and caring. In the story, retired sea captain Howard (Cosmo) and his housekeeper Annie (Brennan) fall in love. The man’s adult daughter Grace (Walker) does not accept the relationship, because she feels that she herself has been deprived of love.
