In September, there were more than 1,500 unemployed job seekers in Päijät-Hämee compared to the same period a year ago, says Häme Ely-keskus.
The share of the unemployed in Päijät-Häme was 11.3 percent of the labor force, which is two and a half percentage points higher than the unemployment rate of the whole country.
At the end of September, there were nearly 10,500 unemployed job seekers in Päijät-Hämee. The highest unemployment rate in the province (12.9) was in Lahti, and the lowest (6.8) in Hollola.
In Häme in September, more than 4,600 new vacancies were reported to the public employment agency. The number decreased by seven percent from a year ago.
