Arts Promotion Centre distributes grants for cultural activities in sparsely populated areas

The Arts Promotion Centre has awarded tens of thousands of euros in grants to cultural activities in sparsely populated areas across North Savo.

One of the biggest bids, €95 000, was awarded to Lastu Ry, an architecture and environmental culture school in Lapinlahti, to support the implementation of the Kyläraiti Art Museum project.

The City of Kuopio also received support for producing cultural events, the North Savo Villages Ry for organising their own village art events, and the Sisä-Savon Sävelet Ry from Suonenjoki for 12 000 music and theatre performances based on letters from villagers.

Tanssitaiteen tuki Ry / Eastern Finland’s regional dance center was awarded a grant of 12,000 euros for the organization of creative movement and dance improvisation events.

Dozens of totem poles will go up in Vesanno next summer, for the implementation of which the municipality received funding from the Art Promotion Center.

The Art Promotion Center distributed a total of two million euros in grants throughout the country. About 60 applicants received the grant, mostly from Eastern Finland and Lapland.
