Travel agency Detur ran out of money – Iltalehti reports that the company is going bankrupt

The Finnish subsidiary is being sued for liquidation together with the Swedish parent company.

Travel agency Detur Finland Oy in Helsinki's Eerikinkatu on January 17, 2011.
Detur has been in the spotlight several times this autumn because of problems with travel.

Swedish travel agency Detur is facing bankruptcy due to a lack of money.

In bankruptcy proceedings, the company’s assets are distributed to creditors.

The Agency will complete the guidelines as soon as possible, inter alia, if Detur has not yet cancelled the reservations. Detur’s deposit has been paid to Sweden, and any refunds will have to be applied for directly from there. The Swedish supervisory authority for guarantees is Kammargollegiet.

The company’s Finnish website does not yet mention the bankruptcy application. Instead, the parent company’s page tells about the situation.

– The shadow of the pandemic has not really made it easier and because of the war in Ukraine there have been fewer passengers, and not everyone has been able to travel, the website explains about the difficulties.

Detur has been on display several times in the fall due to problems encountered on trips.

The company announced last month that it would suspend its operations for the time being and cancel the trips for the rest of the year. Trips have also been canceled for next year.
