Nanna Susi describes herself as a disciplined employee who does not give up even in the face of great challenges.

– Yes, I’ve been painting like hell. I’m quite tired, but also happy, because I think I haven’t gone crazy yet, laughs Susi.

Nanna Sude’s Artist and furious love exhibition tells about the visual artist’s attitude towards her own work.

– It tells about my attitude to work. I have been painting for over 30 years. Furious reflects the fact that if this kind of work is to be done long-term, then it must be done quite furiously.

Large oil paint jobs take their toll, as the work is physically demanding.

– Painting is manual work, it is not done on a computer, but each layer of paint, even the smallest stroke of the brush, is done separately. In this exhibition, I wanted to tell what the feeling is and the work process when painting.

Dark times and a positive undertone

The trials of recent years, Corona and the war that broke out as a result of the Russian invasion have tested moods and faith in the future.

These have also influenced the works seen in the exhibition. Despite the dark times, the works reflect the positive side of life and the triumph of life instead of inconsolation.

– If you have to choose, you always choose life. In these dark times, the basic things of life come to be considered and the preservation of life is of paramount importance.
