Lahti-based wood processing technology manufacturer Raute is laying off employees. In the concluded change negotiations, it was decided to lay off a maximum of 25 white-collar workers and senior white-collar workers in the Finnish units, the company informs.
Some of the cost-saving goals were agreed to be implemented by transferring a maximum of seven people to the service of another company in a business transfer. In addition, the company’s number of personnel will decrease by 18 by the end of the year due to the termination of fixed-term employment relationships, retirements and layoffs that occurred during negotiations.
With personnel adjustments, Raute will achieve an estimated annual savings of 1.5–2 million euros.
There were 435 white-collar workers and senior white-collar workers in Finland covered by the negotiations that have now ended. At the end of June, the total number of employees of the Raute Group was 845, of which 582 were Finnish employees.
