Groundwater levels are close to the average level for the time being, although they have decreased since last spring.
There is still plenty of groundwater in Häme’s wells, as groundwater levels are close to the average level for the time being.
According to the Häme ely center, the good situation goes back to the beginning of the year. At the national groundwater stations in Häme at the beginning of the year, groundwater levels were at the maximum levels in the measurement history, so the long-continued drop in levels has not caused any problems with water procurement so far.
In Häme, the groundwater situation is monitored at four national groundwater stations. According to Siiro, the groundwater situation is currently the same in both Häme counties.
The groundwater situation is monitored in four different locations
In Kanta-Hämee, the monitoring stations are at Tullinkanka in Lammi and at the border of Lope and Tammela in Pernunnummi. The Päijät-Häme monitoring stations are in Orimattila and Sysmän Soukanharju.
– Sysmä’s Soukanharju monitoring station is now unable to receive up-to-date measurement data, as the station’s automatic devices do not send results. The station is being renovated, so in the future we will also get better information from there, says hydrogeologist Petri Siiro.
At the Pernunnummi monitoring station, located on the border of Lope and Tammela, groundwater levels began to fall towards the end of May. In the course of four months, there has been about 40 centimetres. Groundwater levels in Pernunnummi are currently still slightly above the average level.
At Lammi’s Tullinkanka groundwater monitoring station, groundwater levels began to decline in early June and have since dropped by approximately 80 centimeters. Groundwater levels in Tullinkanka are slightly below the average level of the time.
At the Orimattila monitoring station, groundwater levels began to fall in mid-June and have since dropped by about 40 centimeters. Groundwater levels are slightly below the average level of the time.
