Many young people have taken advantage of the free contraception offered by Päijät-Sote.

Around 1,700 visits related to free birth control for people under 25 were recorded in June-August at nurses’ and doctors’ offices. In the trial, which started at the end of spring, a contraceptive method suitable for the customer, such as e-pills or a contraceptive capsule, is offered free of charge.

Free condoms are also distributed, but they are not recommended as the only way to prevent pregnancy.
