Arto Hytönen has worked in the horse racing industry in many different roles as an official, breeder, owner and as the executive director of the Horse Breeders’ Association and the racecourse. He has become particularly well known as the driving force behind the annual international Kymi Grand Prix. Hytönen has also organised the Kuninkuusravit in 2007 and 2023.
After last summer’s King’s Jubilee Races, working for the Confederation is a natural next step for him.
– I believe that I will be able to use my extensive work experience in equestrian sports to the benefit of the whole industry,” says Hytönen in the press release.
In his future work as trotting director, he wants to emphasize the importance of cooperation and discussion.
Horses combine work and hobby
The Hytönen family has its own horse farm at its place of residence in Lahti, whose inhabitants are a diverse group of ponies, breeding mares and retired horses and trotting horses.
Horses have other values \u200b\u200bfor the family than the competition career, they are family members. Arto Hytönen says in the press release that tinkering at the stable is an important outlet for him, which combines hobby, work and free time.
