The year-long online training is free and can be completed alongside work.

The LAB aims to ease the shortage of early childhood education and care workers by providing further training for social workers. More than 15 000 new graduates will be needed in early childhood education and care in the coming years.

The free, almost entirely online training is aimed at social work graduates who lack the legal qualification for early childhood education and care. The 60-credit course is planned to be completed during 2024.

– We get quite a lot of requests for further training for social workers so that they can get a qualification in early childhood education. We have a steady flow of individual students, so we now set out to offer a broader package.

40 students can be accommodated in the continuing education, which starts next January. The application for training is open until November 30.
