The Päijät-Häme Welfare Region calculated what a reduction of €11.2 million would mean in practice. According to Päijät-Sote, the reduction in staff would endanger the services of the region’s population.
The government’s proposal on university hospital allowances would mean a total reduction of €11.2 million in Päijät-Häme on a permanent basis.
In the welfare area, it has been calculated that the reduction would mean a need to adjust about 250 nurses, 90 doctors or 197 rescuers in Päijät-Häme. Päijät-Häme has made significant economic adjustments in recent years. According to the welfare region, it will not be possible to repeat this adjustment on the same scale in the coming years without jeopardising the services provided to the region’s population.
The Päijät-Häme Welfare Region states to the Government that the proposal for a university hospital supplement will permanently weaken the financial position of other welfare regions, is unjustified and puts the regions in an unequal position.
