Students who drive to upper secondary school have found the parking fees in the Paavola area to be high. In the future, parking will be cheapest for them on Laaksonkatu.

The parking fee for students at Lahti’s Paavolan campus will be cut by more than half.

Last week, the Urban Environment Committee decided that the price of contract parking in the Laaksonkatu parking lot will be €20 per month for students. In general, the monthly price for contract parking in the Laaksonkatu and Kauppakatu car parks was set at €37.

The monthly fee for Paavola car parks used to be EUR 50.

The students of Gaudia high school have even wished for free parking, but according to the city, it would have been too difficult to make it happen.
