Antti Tuisku’s hometown Rovaniemi was on show at the stadium concerts in Helsinki, where the artist was known as Bailantai.
The City of Rovaniemi has experienced visibility among new audiences through its cooperation with Antti Tuisku. However, Tuisku has announced after the weekend’s concerts that he will end his career as an artist next summer. In an interview with Helsingin Sanomat, he said exactly this: “After summer 2023, I’m going to be out of this business completely.”
Antti Tuisku has been and will surely continue to be a golden messenger for Rovaniemi. He is a role model and a “our familiar Antti” spreading positive energy, following his dreams and working uncompromisingly. He dares to be himself, remembers his roots and brings his Rovaniemi-ness to the fore.
It is precisely the constant positive Rovaniemi talk and the audiences that have certainly been reached through Antti Tuisku that would not normally be so easily reached, i.e. younger audiences. They have heard about Rovaniemi and the different opportunities and strengths of our city through completely new channels and in a new way. Antti Tuisku represents Rovaniemi’s values of courage and creativity, and is also an advocate for equality.
This collaboration has been the first collaboration in this form in the city, but Antti has, for example, participated in the anti-bullying campaign we had earlier this year.
Both Antti Tuisku and Rovaniemi have certainly both gained a lot from this latest collaboration. There has been wonderful and enthusiastic feedback from all over Finland. This has been a very unique collaboration. For example, it can be said about the concerts that the visibility and reach figures have been excellent. But marketing is, of course, long-term work, the benefits of which can be seen in the long term. This arouses positive attention and interest in the city and at the same time updates images of Rovaniemi. Through that, of course, the goal is to influence the attractiveness of the city.
After all, this has been Finland’s biggest live production of all time and a world-class show around which hundreds of people have worked. The stadium has had more than 70,000 visitors during the two concerts, and Rovaniemi has appeared on the screens dozens of times on both nights. Likewise elsewhere in the stadium area. By Monday, 14,000 orders had been made for the streaming concert, which means thirty thousand viewers on the screen side. There is also a video shot in Rovaniemi where Antti introduces Rovaniemi and thinks about the meaning of the city for himself and his music. A shorter version of the video is also available for everyone to watch on the city’s social media channels and website. Rovaniemi has emerged through the concerts in a very positive context and hopefully will remain in people’s minds. You can watch it on the city’s channels and websites.
The price of our cooperation agreement is 34,000 euros and both the city of Rovaniemi and Visit Rovaniemi have participated in it.
It brings its own dimension and relevance to the cooperation. I believe that Antti will certainly continue to be of interest, no matter what his future profession is and no matter how long the break. Finland loves Antti and Rovaniemi even more.
