Promising results from the Lahti stormwater wells filtration experiment – the use of the filters will be continued until the end of the year

In the future, more filters will possibly be installed in the central area of Lahti.

The rainwater and meltwater filtration experiment in Lahti’s stormwater wells will continue at least until the end of the year. At the end of the experiment, it will be decided whether the filters will be used in the future.

According to Järveläinen, the filters have proven their necessity. Their use will probably continue, but filters will not be installed in every well.

– I hope they will continue to be installed in that downtown area, Järveläinen hopes.

The garbage that accumulates in the filters provides more detailed information about the quantity and quality of the garbage entering the waterways.
