The area of the old bus station has turned into a family destination, where the park is supposed to bring more naturalness in the middle of the asphalt.
In the past couple of years, Heinola has built a family-friendly facility in the area of the old bus station. Now a butterfly park is being built in the area between the traffic park and the pump track.
More allocation is sought for the coming years.
– After the asphalt works, it will expand into a park with naturalness, life and plants that attract butterflies.
Liikennepuisto claimed its place
Heinola has asked the townspeople how the area of the old bus station should have been developed.
The transport park made of timber, where you can move around with mopeds, skateboards and scooters, gathered around 15,000 visitors in the summer of 2021.
– Together with the aviary located near the park, they form a family tourist destination, says Kaikkonen.
The traffic park’s season ended in August, but on September 30, the park with its rides will still be in use in the evening for the Pimee ajot event.
