When the viper slithers into the yard, Tapani Tuovinen is called to the scene – this is how the snake is orthodoxly caught for relocation

The viper can be moved with the help of two leaf rakes and a bucket with a lid. An easier way is to call a person who has the skills and tools to move a roach.

These snakes chose their place well, after all, Tuovinen has a knack for moving snakes out of the yard unharmed.

– All the snakes I have caught, I have returned unharmed to nature, Tuovinen says.

Tapani Tuovinen started moving snakes out of people’s yards as a hobby only years ago, when he retired from working life.

Now the phone perks up every week, first in the spring when the vipers wake up from their winter nests, and then again in the fall when the vipers head towards hibernation.

Equipment for moving a viper can be found in the garage

People living in the area know to call Tuovinen’s emergency services if a viper appears in the yard. The local animal protection association has also passed on the message of the viper’s mover.

– This spring, I have removed three horses from one yard. The young couple living in the house got excited about it when I guided them and showed them the tools with which you can move snakes, Tuovinen says.

Tapani Tuovinen hopes that instead of killing the vulture, people would rather call someone who can move the snake out of the yard. Tuovinen picked up this cypress from the yard to be moved on Monday.

Tuovinen moves vipers as a hobby and for free. He has acquired the necessary equipment for himself.

If you want to move the viper by hand, Tuovinen has long welding gloves for this. Not even teeth can go through them. With the help of gloves, you can move the snake if you can’t get hold of it with tongs.

On the Internet, Tuovinen has ordered tongs for moving snakes, which are also used by snake enthusiasts. When using them, however, you have to be careful with the use of force, so as not to accidentally squeeze the entire snake.

Among the items, there is also a self-made hook, which can be used to catch a vulture and put it in a bucket for transport.

On the floor are three long metal pliers, a metal stick with a red hook at the end, a ghost and blue, thick gloves.

In a normal summer house, you usually don’t find similar tools for moving ants. Tuovinen gives a tip that the viper can be guided onto the leaf rake and with the other rake, when you squeeze the viper lightly, you can move it to the bucket.

After that, put the lid on the bucket and the snake can be moved elsewhere.

\”Kyy are the most beautiful animals there are\”

After the beginning of June, it is no longer allowed to kill the horse without reason and to disturb its life.

Tapani Tuovinen has been waiting for many years for the new viper-calming nature conservation law that will come into effect at the beginning of June. He considers it necessary.

– In my opinion, Kyy is one of the finest animals there is. It has probably been treated wrongly and unfairly for hundreds of years.

Tuovinen got used to kyu already as a small boy. Several vipers slithered into the yard of the house every spring, which did not interfere with the four brothers’ yard games.

– When we ran in that yard, we always jumped over the snake with a slightly longer step and continued on our way. They were always a little scared, but not really scared, says Tuovinen.

He recalls that the viper never bit any of the brothers.

– Maybe those snakes sensed that we were friends.

Tapani Tuovinen hopes that instead of killing the viper, people would call people like him who move snakes out of yards.

During the relocation, he has also tried to educate people about snakes.

– You don’t have to be afraid of a viper. It doesn’t search for a person by searching. It’s bad luck if you step next to it in such a way that it bites, Tuovinen says.
