The price of the renovation contract rose by more than a third when the start of the work was delayed by two years due to the appeals process.
If the city government approves the renovation plans with increased costs, the restoration of the river could begin next summer.
The restoration of Tourujoki has been planned in Jyväskylä for a decade.
They would like to return the river closer to its natural state, which would enable, among other things, the rise and reproduction of migratory fish in it.
