The ideas to be implemented will be chosen by a vote that will start in a couple of weeks.
This year, the city of Lahti has also set aside 200,000 euros to finance participatory budgeting, i.e. osbu ideas, proposed by the citizens themselves.
Until the beginning of March, all residents had the opportunity to submit funding for a target they consider important, for example to fix a small deficiency in their own living environment or, for example, to organize a community event.
Of course, there were also ideas that the residents already found important in previous years.
According to him, it is only good that important issues affecting community, well-being and the environment are brought up year after year.
– Of course, there are also ideas, such as a dog park, for which the total allocation is not enough, but even those are always requested again, says Mäkinen.
Citizen’s vote in May
In recent weeks, residents’ ideas have been reviewed and developed further in open workshops organized by the city of Lahti.
You can still comment or praise the proposals until Wednesday.
– For each case, you can also see the comments given by the experts and the reasons why the matter could not be taken forward. The green or red color indicates whether the proposal is going to the vote. says Mäkinen.
In order to comment and vote, you must log in to the Maptionnaire program, to which there is also a link on the website of the city of Lahti.
Voting starts on May 22 and the result of the selected ideas will be completed on June 11. June.
Approved proposals will be implemented during 2024.
