According to the Finnish Natural Resources Agency, the growth of the lynx population is due to moderate hunting.

The number of lynxes continues to increase in Finland proper.

According to the recent population assessment of the Finnish Natural Resources Agency, there were an estimated 31–33 lynx cubs in the province in 2022.

Last year’s estimate was three litters less. In 2020, there were twenty litters.

The number of lynx over one year old is now 155–170 in Finland proper.

According to the Finnish Natural Resources Agency’s population estimate, the lynx population of the entire country has increased since last year. According to Luke, the observed population growth is the result of moderate hunting taxation.

In actual Finland, all 11 issued lynx felling permits were used in the hunting season that ended in February.
